Dr. Janaki Gooty has lived and played in Charlotte for about four years. She completed her 200-hour RYT training with Johnna Smith and Tanner Bazemore in the spring of 2015 and currently teaches yoga with Movement Charlotte. When she is not teaching for the Belk College for Business at UNC, Charlotte or publishing in the areas of leadership and managing emotions in organizations, Janaki trains at Metro, travels for leisure, practices yoga, and loves to cook. She started practicing yoga at Metro Fitness and Y2 Yoga for the physical benefits of power yoga, but quickly feel in love with all the “side effects” of yoga such as a stronger core, increased wellness, a focus on breath, and stillness of the mind.
