What certifications do you hold?
NASM Certified Personal Trainer, 200-Hour Registered Yoga Teacher, CrossFit Level 1, Les Mills BodyPump, CPR/AED.
Do you have any specializations/areas of interest?
Yoga, pre- and post-natal, circuit training, high-intensity interval training, weightlifting for women, weight loss, endurance, flexibility/mobility and core conditioning.
What is your philosophy on exercise and health?
I encourage my clients to find a balance with exercise and nutrition that is sustainable. I find that for most people this is that 80/20 ratio. I believe in working out hard and eating clean but living well. All the hard work isn’t worth it if you can’t enjoy a nice dinner out or a weekend away. I believe that strength training is the most important element of a training program despite age, gender or fitness level. Strength training will change the shape of your body along with providing longevity, supporting bone and joint health and increasing metabolism.
What are your interests and hobbies outside of the gym?
Practicing and teaching hot yoga, running (I’m a recovering half/full marathon runner who loves shorter distances now!), cooking, traveling, hiking, my golden retriever Sullie, trying new restaurants and writing my health and fitness blog, Peanut Butter Runner.
What is your favorite quote?
If it doesn’t challenge you, it doesn’t change you.
